Riel noir first discovered photography at the young age of four years of old when she experienced the magic of her mothers' Kodak Box Brownie camera.

Whilst living in Denmark, her work was published in music papers and magazines as well as having participated in a number of group exhibitions.

Returning to Scotland in 1995, Riel attended Fine Art Photography at Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1998.  

Since graduating Riel has been involved in teaching photography and Photoshop to a variety of age groups and abilities, before starting her own photography business toward the end of last year.

Riel noir has exhibited in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forfar, Glasgow, London, and Copenhagen.
